Estimate checkout total

Enter the price and purchase type. Connecticut has the same adult-use checkout rates statewide, so no location choice is needed.

How the tax works

From 1 October 2026, Connecticut adult-use cannabis checkout includes a 10.75% price-based cannabis tax, 6.35% general sales tax and a fixed 3% municipal cannabis tax. The older THC-per-milligram potency method no longer applies. All three percentages use the same pretax selling price and each tax line is rounded separately. On $100 the total is $120.10. The Connecticut DRS worked $22 example is $2.37 cannabis tax, $1.40 sales tax and $0.66 municipal tax, totaling $26.43.

A qualifying sale through Connecticut's medical marijuana program is exempt from these adult-use taxes and ordinary sales tax; $100 remains $100 in this estimate. The adult-use municipal rate is fixed statewide, so no location selection is needed. Confirm medical eligibility and any taxable accessories or other items with the retailer.

Use a pretax retail price after discounts, excluding separately stated taxes. Tax-inclusive advertised prices must be converted to a pretax price first. Store fees, delivery charges and receipt rounding can change the amount owed; this estimate does not resolve their tax treatment.
