How the tax works
Nevada charges 10% retail excise on an adult-use cannabis sale, plus the sales tax for the county of sale or delivery. Both taxes use the discounted selling price; the retail excise is not added to the sales-tax base. The 15% wholesale cannabis excise applies earlier and is not another retail percentage. A qualified patient cardholder does not pay the 10% retail excise but still pays county sales tax.
The 17 county rates are listed in the selector. At a $100 purchase in Clark County, 8.375% sales tax rounds to $8.38, producing $118.38 adult-use or $108.38 qualified medical. If the county is unknown, the tool shows only the 6.85% statewide sales-tax floor: $116.85 adult-use or $106.85 qualified medical. Check the store's county and receipt before relying on the result.
Use a pretax retail price after discounts, excluding separately stated taxes. Tax-inclusive advertised prices must be converted to a pretax price first. Store fees, delivery charges and receipt rounding can change the amount owed; this estimate does not resolve their tax treatment.
