Estimate checkout total

Enter the cannabis-product price and choose adult-use or eligible medical. The same cannabis tax rate applies statewide.

How the tax works

Maryland's adult-use cannabis and cannabis-product sales tax is 12% of the purchase price from 1 July 2025. It replaces the ordinary 6% sales rate for these products; do not add 6% again. On a $100 pretax cannabis purchase, the estimated total is $112.

Medical cannabis is exempt when the buyer presents a valid Maryland medical identification card and the purchase stays within the provider-certified amount. Accessories and some bundled products can have different tax treatment; enter only the cannabis-product price here.

Use a pretax retail price after discounts, excluding separately stated taxes. Tax-inclusive advertised prices must be converted to a pretax price first. Store fees, delivery charges and receipt rounding can change the amount owed; this estimate does not resolve their tax treatment.
