Estimate checkout total

Enter the price and choose the purchase type. For adult-use purchases, select a listed city or unincorporated county area, or enter a local rate you have verified. Otherwise you will see a range.

How the tax works

Oregon's adult-use state retail tax is 17% of the retail price. A voter-approved local tax of up to 3% may also apply; both use the retail price after discounts. On a $100 pretax purchase, the total ranges from $117.00 to $120.00 until the local rate is known. A verified 3% local rate makes it $120.00.

Qualifying Oregon Medical Marijuana Program cardholder or caregiver transactions for medical purposes are exempt from these marijuana retail taxes. Selecting medical in this calculator assumes the transaction actually qualifies; holding a card alone does not establish the exemption for every purchase. Oregon has no general state sales tax added here.

Use a pretax retail price after discounts, excluding separately stated taxes. Tax-inclusive advertised prices must be converted to a pretax price first. Store fees, delivery charges and receipt rounding can change the amount owed; this estimate does not resolve their tax treatment.
